A Mercer man was arraigned Friday on charges he went on a burglary spree this week, and police are looking into his involvement in other recent break-ins.

Nikolaus A. Beers, 23, formerly of 325 Home St. allegedly broke into and robbed three Mercer-area businesses this week.

Beers was brought before District Justice Ruth M. French on three counts each of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property filed by state police. He was in Mercer County Jail Friday evening after failing to post $25,000 bond.

He is accused of taking $404 Thursday morning from Roma's Italian Restaurant in Coolspring Township, $705 Tuesday morning from Dairy Queen in East Lackawannock Township, and a video surveillance tape marked "Monday" and money from a gumball machine Tuesday morning at Kargo Quality Used Cars and Trucks in East Lackawannock, police said.
