Homeowners get update on mandate for sewers

By Patrecka F. Adams

Mike Tonkinson said he's worried that older residents won't be able to pay for the costs associated with sewers that might be laid in the southwest corner of Hubbard Township.

"My major concern is all the old people who won't be able to afford this," he said.

Tonkinson, of 3598 Woodbine Ave., was one of many residents who turned out Thursday night at the township administration building for a special meeting to discuss the sewer project.

The meeting was held to find volunteers to collect signatures from homeowners interested in petitioning Trumbull County commissioners to conduct an engineering study of the area. Thirty-five streets around Woodbine, including Bell Wick Road and Pershing Avenue, were targeted.
