The Associated Press A hard-luck amusement park in northwestern Pennsylvania that is home to the country's sixth-oldest wooden roller coaster has a new 13-member board of directors that will soon control the site. Conneaut Lake Park, a 111-year-old park in Crawford County has struggled financially and was embroiled in a legal dispute over its ownership, but that was settled in February. It was deeded to a public trust in 1997 and a court-appointed custodian oversees the landmark, but he hopes to give control to the board soon. Park Custodian Herb Brill said it was inevitable that the park develop a different management structure. "The court can't continue to run it through a custodian. The purpose of a custodian is to stabilize the operation, review it and see whether it was worth keeping," he said. |
