By Jeff Greenburg Herald Political Writer It's not that Mercer County Recorder Rhonda McClelland doesn't enjoy a trip down memory lane on occasion, this just wasn't one of those times. Her office's computer system crashed Monday, inconveniencing some county residents, as well as staffers who were forced to do some recording for a couple of days the old-fashioned way -- by hand. "It was just like going backwards about 20 years in time," Mrs. McClelland said Wednesday, regarding her office that's responsible for recording property deeds while also enabling residents to do title searches on properties. The computers, which Mrs. McClelland said are on the county network but run under a separate program, began to act up Monday. |
