While skill and a little luck had an effect on students who won The Herald Stock Market Game, it was technology that carried the day. The high school and elementary teams who won their respective divisions loaded up on technology stocks to pile up huge profits. In the game, students are given an imaginary $100,000 to invest over 10 weeks. Teams create strategies by buying and selling stocks listed in The Herald. In true capitalistic form, the team that amasses the most earnings wins. |
