Police: N.J. man passed stolen checks locally

By Joe Pinchot

A West Orange, N.J., man has been charged with using a stolen checkbook to buy computer-related items at two Hermitage stores.

Atef N. Razzouk, 52, was charged by state police with forgery, theft, receiving stolen property, identity theft and conspiracy to commit forgery and theft.

Police said the investigation began March 4, 2002, when two stores in Clarion reported they may have been given bad checks to pay for computer-related equipment.

Police said the names on the checks did not match up with those on two driver's licenses that were given as further identification.
