Joint Episcopal, Lutheran service set

A joint worship service of American Episcopal and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon.

The service will be in celebration of the "Call to Common Mission" agreement signed by both denominations. It will include Eucharist, which will be open to the public.

Co-officiating at the service will be Bishop Robert D. Rowley Jr. of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Diocese of the American Episcopal Church; and Bishop Ralph E. Jones of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The Rev. Arlon K. Stubbe, of Christ Lutheran Church, is host pastor.

A joint choir formed from members of Christ the Redeemer Episcopal and Holy Trinity Lutheran churches in Hermitage; and Christ Evangelical Lutheran and St. John's Episcopal Church, both Sharon, will perform. William Brocklebank, of the host church, will direct.
