Man found beaten
in alley

An unidentified man, who was found in an alley in Farrell early Saturday, is in critical condition at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, police said.

Southwest Mercer County Regional police were investigating a suspicious-noise call in the 600 block of Fruit and Wallis avenues when they found the unconscious man.

He had been assaulted, police said, and had severe facial injuries. No identification was found on him.

The victim is white and in his mid- to late 30s. He has a thin black mustache and short black hair with a receding hairline. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds.

He was wearing a white Nike T-shirt, a gray "beater" style undershirt, blue jeans, gray Nike gym shorts, and blue and white Nike sneakers.

Police said the man has five tattoos that might help identify him: an eagle on his upper right arm, a cobra on his inner right arm, a Grim Reaper on his outer forearm, a cross of confusion on his outer left wrist, and a black widow spider on his left middle finger.

Police asked anyone with information to call 724-983-2720.
