By Monica Puhak Herald News Intern For many swimming pools across the country, deep ends are a thing of the past, and F.H. Buhl Club Executive Director Jeff Valentino said Buhl Farm park's pool has considered joining the list. "I've been thinking about it for two or three years now," he said. As part of a recent trend, public pools have been filling in their deep ends to create an all-shallow swimming area. Valentino and Buhl Farm Trustees have had a few discussions on the idea for the park. The main reason they have considered eliminating the deep end is to ensure the safety of the community, he said. The plan could include replacing the diving board with a slide. Valentino also said it would be safer to remove ladders and create a gradual entry area, similar to the shoreline of a beach. |
