A Sunday afternoon storm caused lots of headaches and a few scares for Mercer County residents already waterlogged from a July 4 soaker.

In Hermitage a woman was trapped in her car at state Route 18 and Lamor Road when the flood waters covered the hood of her car. Hermitage Police Chief Ed Stanton said the woman wasn't hurt but was taken to a local hospital because she was very shaken up.

The intersection was closed for hours. After the flood waters receded, debris -- including a large tree stump -- littered the road. Stanton said street crews and PennDOT were called to the scene.
