Who cares about trading cards of Yogi Berra, Barry Bonds and Roberto Clemente when there's Marc Adamo, Kevin Wherry and Sherwood Raymer.

About 25 children from the ERASE youth coalition will have fun this summer collecting trading cards from the Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Department, thanks to a $1,000 community drug abuse prevention grant that Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission received from the Attorney General's office.

The grant compensated members of the Southwest force with about 20 trading cards each, which were designed by Shenango Valley Quikprint in Hermitage.

Kids in the youth program began collecting the cards last week. They contain fun information about the policemen, such as their hobbies and favorite sports. The kids, 6 and older, were instructed to approach patrolmen when they see them in the community and ask for the cards.
