Another day, another storm, another batch of power outages. The latest rainstorm rumbled through the area at dawn Tuesday with dish-rattling thunder and pitchfork lightning, leaving 5,800 Pennsylvania Power Co. customers in Greenville, Sharpsville and Hermitage without power. Lightning hit a Sharpsville substation, which caused the Shenango Valley outage and required extensive work. A tree limb came down at about 6:30 in Greenville, damaging a main power line that feeds the heart of the town, said Randy Coleman, area manager for Penn Power. By noon Tuesday, power was restored for nearly all those customers. |
