Were they drinking
when they put up
liquor store sign?

By Amanda Smith-Teutsch

A sign stands along Interstate 80 advertising the opening of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's discount liquor store that opened in Hermitage Towne Plaza last month. The sign directs people to take exit 4B -- state Route 60 -- to state Route 18 to take advantage of the store's bulk liquor discounts.

Only problem is, by some gaffe, the sign was placed after the exit it directs motorists to take. The next exit after the sign is the U.S. Route 19 exit to Mercer, a side trip of about 30 extra miles.

"We'll have to notify our advertising firm and let them know about it," said Molly McGowan, a spokeswoman for the LCB.
