Sharpsville is now locked into paying its portion of Sharon's new sewage treatment plant. That's bad news for South Pymatuning Township, where the supervisors want to oppose the plan, but don't want to do it alone. Sharpsville council Tuesday unanimously passed a sewage treatment plan that calls for the expansion of the Sharon plant. The state Department of Environmental Protection has ordered the expansion. Sharon must build a new plant to double the amount of waste being treated. The current plant can treat 4.5 million gallons a day, and the new plant will accommodate 8.66 million gallons daily. |
