An attorney representing the paternal grandparents of a Grove City area boy in the middle of a contentious custody case says a Mercer County judge was right to order the boy be placed in foster care after his mother took him and fled in the face of a court order granting them visitation.

Mercer attorney Margaret Lucas, who is representing Dan and Carol Balcer of Butler County, described the case of their grandson Caleb Wright as a "situation totally out of control."

Caleb and his mother Bertha "Ellie" Wright, formerly of 949 N. Broad Street Extension, Pine Township, disappeared hours before a May 1 contempt hearing on Ms. Wright's failure to comply with a court order to allow the Balcers weekly visits with their 3-year-old grandson, Mrs. Lucas said.
