A man who admitted robbing a Hermitage bank and seven others was sentenced to 87 months in prison Thursday. Christopher M. Lyons, 22, of Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty April 7 to five counts of bank robbery, and accepted responsibility for three others, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Pittsburgh. U.S. District Court Chief Judge W. Donetta Ambrose also sentenced Lyons to pay restitution and serve 3 years' supervised release after his prison term. Lyons pleaded guilty to robbing banks in Hermitage, Zelienople, Claysville, Butler and Pittsburgh, and accepted responsibility for robbing Ohio banks in St. Clairsville, Cambridge and Steubenville, said Assistant U.S. Attorney William C. Snyder. All the robberies occurred in 2002. |
