By Sherris Moreira-Byers Herald Staff Writer While the travelogue series seem to be going by the wayside in bigger locales such as Pittsburgh, it's still going strong in Grove City. "We have six shows every year and we usually get anywhere from 275 to 400 people," said Harry Lutton, president of the Grove City Kiwanis, which sponsors the event in the Grove City High School auditorium in October and November and again from January through April. Recently the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh decided to end its 56-year travelogue series. But there is no end in sight for the 30-year traveling show in the borough. "We hook up with a national booking company out of Michigan and they give us maybe like 12 places worldwide where world travelers have gone and made a video, then we choose the six that we think our people will be interested in," said Lutton. |
