Having a new restaurant near the Ohio line might prove to be a plus for Freddie and Anthony Faraone's new eatery in Sharon.

After transforming a mediocre, bland building into a happening multi-plex teen hangout, the new café may be just what owners Freddie Faraone, 32, and his brother Anthony, 30, need to push the thriving business one step further.

Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, "Freddie Fresh's Cafe and Entertainment" located at 160 W. State Street, offers a mixed menu of homestyle Italian eats. The cuisine includes dinner entrees that range from $7 for cavatelli and ravioli to $6 for ziti and spaghetti, which come with homemade sauce, garlic bread and meatballs. The meatballs are a timeless recipe derived from the Faraones' late grandmother Louise Armino.

Classic finger foods like fresh-cut french fries, wings, mozzarella and cheesy bread sticks, onion rings and zucchini, are served alongside such sandwiches as steak and cheese, battered cod fish, chicken and scrumptious breaded eggplant.
