When it rains, it pours. And on Monday, it really poured. Some parts of Mercer County saw up to 8 inches of rain in two storms, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. The Greenville area got up to 5 inches in the first round of storms, and according to radar, up to 3 inches more in the evening. Other areas of the county saw between 3 and 5 inches in the afternoon and another 3 inches that night. A spokesperson from the weather service said both a microburst and a low-level tornado were confirmed in the northeast corner of the county. |
