People in northwest Pennsylvania who enjoy boating and the activities associated with boating are out of luck. Shenango and Kinzua recreation areas are closed and there are restrictions on Conneaut Lake due to extremely high water, said Gary Deiger, northwest regional manager of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. He said Wednesday the lake level was 2 to 3 feet above normal and was still rising, he said. People are encouraged not to boat at all but if they do they must travel at a "slow, no wake speed," Deiger said. That means activities like skiing are out of the question. The restrictions are to "protect property and human life," Deiger said. |
