Trumbull County residents needing emergency services may still call 911, even though the Howland call center remains closed due to flooding. The calls are being routed through Warren police station until the office reopens, which a 911 supervisor said should be within a few days. The office is operating out of a mobile center. Because of the heavy storms that damaged homes and caused busy thoroughfares to be shut down for hours Monday, county commissioners Tuesday declared a state of emergency. Among the areas with the worst flooding were parts of Brookfield: along Yankee Run Road and the intersection of state Routes 82 and U.S. Route 62, said Linda Beil, director of the county's Emergency Management Agency. |
