Old time tractors, more featured

Sometimes looking behind can help you see what's ahead. That's what Walter Darraugh, Coolspring Township, thinks as president of the Mercer County Antique Power Association.

The group is sponsoring the 11th annual Antique Tractor and Engine Show that began with an auction Thursday evening and runs through Sunday afternoon at the Stoneboro Fairgrounds on US Route 62 in Stoneboro.

"Our purpose is to provide an education for the youth of today about how things, such as farming equipment and engines, have evolved from yesterday to now," he said. "I would say that people would have an enjoyable day of looking at machinery of the past so that the people can see something that maybe they've never seen before."

Some of the old-time items on display this year are Oliver tractors and Maytag engines.
