An alumnus of Westminster College spent several years seeking the right time to go it alone in the business world. For Jeff Modrak, that chance has come as president of Premier Technology Systems LLC.

The Washington, Pa.-based company opened in April and provides voice and data cable, or structured cabling, for residential and commercial markets.

"I always really wanted to go out on my own, and it was a matter of finding the right opportunity at the right time," said the 1995 Westminster graduate with a bachelor's in business administration. "I've looked into numerous opportunities over the years and this one seemed right to me."

A project under way at Grove City College is the fledgling company's most substantial assignment to date. "We're re-cabling Ketler Hall and Hopeman Hall," Modrak said.
