2 people, police say A 40-year-old Sharon woman was charged with two counts of attempted homicide after police said she tried to stab two people Sunday. Deanne Goodnight, 40, of 959 Bechtel Ave. was arrested at 6:16 p.m. at Prindle Street and Sherman Avenue and taken to Sharon lockup after she broke into a home in the 200 block of Cedar Avenue and tried to stab a woman and a man there, police said. Police said Ms. Goodnight called the woman and threatened to kill her before breaking a window to get into the woman's home. She attempted to stab the woman, but was stopped by a man whom she also tried to stab, police said. While police were arresting Ms. Goodnight, they said, she pulled the knife from her waistband and brandished it. She also kicked and tripped a patrolman and spit in his face, police said. Besides attempted homicide, Ms. Goodnight was charged with possession of instruments of crime, four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, making terroristic threats and aggravated harassment by a prisoner. She was taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 7. ----------sty------> |
