Brookfield residents, especially those who live in the Yankee Run Road area, must boil for three minutes any water they use for drinking or cooking.

Frank Migliozzi, Trumbull County environmental health director, said the boil-water advisory is in effect until further notice. It also affects Leavittsburg and Braceville.

"The advisory is for people who have properties that were fully submerged and wells that were submerged in flood water," Migliozzi said, noting that some wells in the Brookfield area have tested positive for the bacteria e-coli.

Migliozzi stressed that his agency isn't testing wells throughout the county, but he urged people with wells in the affected areas to get their systems chlorinated and flushed.
