An amended ordinance should help regulate parking in Farrell at several intersections along Roemer Boulevard where poor visibility can make driving hazardous. Council Monday passed on first reading parking restrictions at six intersections along Roemer, among other streets. The restrictions won't go into effect until the ordinance passes on second reading, has been advertised and new signs are in place. Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Chief Riley Smoot Jr. helped identify the trouble spots where vehicles have been parked too close to the corners. One of the trouble spots is Lee Avenue and Staunton Street by the Twin City Elks Lodge 187. Parking will be banned 100 feet from the corner. |
