man wanted for murder Hermitage police on Thursday snagged a fugitive wanted for first-degree murder in Florida. Charles R. Sarchet, 48, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Canal Street in Wheatland, was arrested at 3:16 a.m. at the Starlight Inn in Hermitage after police learned he was wanted for murder by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. According to the Hernando sheriff's, HernandoToday and St. Petersburg Times Web sites, Sarchet was last seen Sunday in the Florida area and was said to be driving a white 2000 Volkswagen Beetle belonging to the victim, Stuart Arlhuna, 51, who was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of his Brooksville home at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Sarchet, the neighborhood handyman, had been known to carry a .22-caliber revolver most of the time, the sheriff's office said. |
