Brian Short spoke in a calm voice as he sized up the damage done to his parents' home at 7955 Service Ave., Masury, during rainstorms July 21 and 22.

When the words finally came, they expressed how blown away the Farrell minister is with the emotional task of clearing the contents of the flooded area.

"The cleanup is going slow," he said softly. "(I'll) leave at the end of the day ... and it seems like I haven't gotten anything accomplished."

Short said when he first looked at the damage and saw end tables floating by and parts of the floor floating in murky water, "I just started crying. I was so overwhelmed."
