Storms damaged classrooms, directors told

There's a lot of work to be done on the West Middlesex Area School District grounds because of damage from recent storms.

Building and grounds supervisor John Giroski told school directors Thursday that two classrooms in the high school were filled with standing water and the carpet will have to be replaced. He said the carpet is "floating" on the floor because the glue is gone.

Those classrooms have sustained water damage in the past, Giroski said. Directors said they will consider putting a different type of flooring in those rooms.

There are also various ditches on the property that have to be retrenched, Giroski said. He said water from one area has flooded neighboring properties.
