Farrell council Friday approved an ordinance on second reading that officially changes rules and regulations and eliminates produce restrictions at the local farmers market. It used to be illegal for anyone to sell goods at the Farrell Farmers Market they didn't grow themselves. However, the newly amended ordinance, modeled on a state regulation, permits wholesale produce -- as long as the seller also grows $1,000 worth of goods. The ordinance, which council approved on first reading Monday night, does not allow vendors to sell produce they bought at the Farrell market. |
