Nursing graduates keep

classmate's memory alive

When tragedy strikes, people always look for a way to handle their grief and heal.

For the 59th graduating class of the Practical Nursing Program at the Mercer County Career Center, healing means keeping the memory of their classmate alive.

The first fund-raising event, an indoor yard sale, for the Sharon Urey Hanford Scholarship Fund was held Saturday at the Career Center.

Mrs. Hanford was a student in the Practical Nursing Program and was only weeks away from graduating when, at the age of 34, she died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm on April 21.
