Some of the people lining South Broad Street waited two hours Tuesday for the 7 p.m. start of the parade that kicked off the 46th Grove City Street Fair. The crowd was treated to majorettes, fire trucks, local politicians with candy, and, of course, rain. A downpour began about the same time as the parade. "It's been like this all summer. We expected this," said Tom Foster of Grove City. He and his wife Lori stuck around. "The kids are having fun and they're still getting their candy," Mrs. Foster said. Many adults huddled under umbrellas and business awnings to see the more than 55-unit parade but the rain didn't faze the kids, who jumped in the puddles on the sidewalks and grabbed candy as it floated down the street. |
