Hermitage city staff has been assigned to try to come up with a way for the city to promote vacant commercial buildings. Commissioner Larry Gurrera asked the Hermitage Economic Development Commission Thursday if it had ideas to publicize the vacant space. "We probably should know, have some kind of list of what's vacant," said the commission's chairman, William Moder. Aside from a list, economic development officials need much more information on a building to field questions about it, said commission member John Holliday. An interested party might want to know information on a building's ownership, condition and amenities, the zoning district it is in, the local labor market and city requirements. That data is not always readily available. |
