National Church of God set for 87th camp meeting

The National Association of the Church of God is holding its 87th annual summer camp meeting next week at the denomination campgrounds on Campground Road. Theme is "Real Reconciliation ... Restoration"

Among the scheduled events are:

   » Morning Glory -- 6 to 7 a.m. Monday through Aug. 16 in R.S. Jackson Auditorium, with Bishop Gilbert Thompson of Boston.

   » Praise and Worship workshop -- 8 a.m. Monday through Aug. 16 in R.S. Jackson Auditorium, with the Rev. Leslie Barnes as music coordinator.

   » Awards banquet -- 2 p.m. Friday in Mary Terrell Dining Hall, with the Dr. Ronald J. Fowler as speaker. Lifetime achievement and service awards will be given. Honorees are Dr. Alice Shankle; Sister Lucy Rogers; Dr. Michael Smith of Atlanta, formerly of Sharon; and Dr. Edward L. Foggs, former Church of God general secretary in Anderson. Tickets: $25.
