Police drop body dumping charges

Hermitage police have withdrawn charges against a Warren, Ohio, man accused of helping dump the body of a Sharon man who had died.

Police said they withdrew charges of abuse of a corpse and conspiracy that were filed against Donald E. Lesh, 42, on the advice of the Mercer County District Attorney's Office because of discrepancies in witness statements.

Police said they continue to investigate and could refile charges.

Lesh was charged with helping Emce A. Jones, 41, move the body of Mark A. McNulty, 40, of 547 Lafayette Ave., Sharon, from Jones' apartment at 1445 Parke Drive to Lynnwood Drive, where it was found June 6, police said.

McNulty died at Jones' apartment of a mixture of cocaine and heroin, according to Deputy Coroner Cris Loutzenhiser.

Jones allowed charges of abuse of a corpse and conspiracy against him to proceed to Mercer County Common Pleas Court at a preliminary hearing July 2.
