Directors
appoint
man who's
suing them

A Greene Township man has been appointed to the same school board he is suing.

James Owens, 70, was appointed to fill a vacancy on Jamestown School Board at the board's regular meeting Monday night.

Owens is one of four school board candidates who are suing the district over the high school renovation project.

Board member Debra Miller said she thinks the appointment makes sense.

"When you first join a school board, it can take a very long time to learn about the business of a board," she said. "And the school board having a vacancy right now would not be optimal."
