Sharon City Council members are still looking for answers to their questions about the Oakland Avenue Viaduct, and they're still looking for Mercer County Commissioners to answer them face to face. The commissioners sent a letter to council about the status of the viaduct but Councilman Lou Rotunno said the letter didn't really answer any questions such as who bonded the project and why there is no pending litigation in the situation. Council asked commissioners to attend a council meeting but so far no one has. Mayor David O. Ryan said one of the three commissioner was supposed to attend Thursday's meeting but didn't show up. Rotunno said when commissioners wanted $100,000 from the city for the Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. they attended a meeting. "They just don't care about Sharon unless they want something," Councilman George Gulla said. "This is very disgraceful." "We need answers, and we don't need letters to the editor from people who live in Sharpsville telling us to tear it (the viaduct) down," Rotunno said. "People who don't live in Sharon should take care of their own city first," Councilwoman Chris Outrakis agreed. |
