People who live on the east side of Sharon shouldn't be alarmed if they hear a loud siren Saturday afternoon. The tornado siren, on Westerman Avenue behind American Legion Post 299, has been renovated, remounted and is ready for use, Sharon Emergency Management Coordinator Harry Killa said. All of Sharon's tornado sirens are tested at 5:30 p.m. every Saturday, and the new siren will now sound at that time also. The sirens sound for one minute. A real tornado warning is an up and down signal for five minutes. |
