Teens testify in alleged kidnap-robbery case

"I'm scared to death," a 14-year-old girl said as James "Smoke" Mills gestured vulgarly through a Grove City police car window after his hearing was continued Wednesday afternoon by District Justice Lawrence T. Silvis, Worth Township.

Mills, 18, is facing a multitude of charges -- including kidnapping, robbery, simple assault and unlawful restraint -- after he and Cazimier "Cash" Rankin, 20, who is facing the same charges, took two 17-year-olds at gunpoint July 21 from the parking lot of a convenience store on West Main Street, according to police.

Police said the Ohio men then drove the teens to Breckenridge Street, about a mile from the store, where they told the youths to get out of the car and empty their pockets, getting about $40 and two pocket knives.
