Wheatland officials and other observers gathered Friday at the corner of Patton and Mercer avenues to dedicate a "much needed" new sidewalk. They watched as Rachel Legg, 13, of Wheatland, helped snip a ceremonial ribbon. "It's a good accomplishment for Wheatland," she said. The sidewalk is expected to be used mostly by students walking to school. And with classes starting on Monday, Rachel, an eighth-grader in Farrell schools, said she will use it. On the stroll to school, she said, students run into some streets that don't have sidewalks. |
