will feature 6 local stops The Mercer County Country Tour is set for 1 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13 and 14 with six stops. The "drive-it-yourself" event features stops that are representative of the agriculture industry and rural community of Mercer County. A self-guiding tour map with descriptions and driving directions is available in many area agriculture businesses, libraries and at the Mercer County Cooperative Extension, Coolspring Township. Stops include McCullough Grain; Highland Farm, a dairy farm owned by the Ealy family; Jefferson Township Municipal Building for food and rest stop; Hermitage Historical Society; Cottage Gardens; and Alpaca Outback. All are in the Jefferson Township and Hermitage area. The tour is organized by the Mercer County Country Tour Committee, which is made up of individuals representing a variety of agricultural businesses and organizations from throughout the county. ----------sty------> |
