16-year-old faces stabbing sentence as adult

A 16-year-old Farrell girl being tried as an adult for allegedly trying to stab a woman has pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault.

Sequioa King, of 520 Wallis Ave., was charged by Southwest Mercer County Regional police with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment, and charges were held for court Aug. 15 by District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage.

She entered her plea to simple assault Aug. 21 in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Sentencing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 3 before Judge Thomas R. Dobson.

Sequioa put scissors to her throat and threatened to harm herself at 3:42 p.m. July 31 at Crossroads Inc., 1243 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, police said.
