The consistory of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage, is allowing a new Christian school to open in its building.

The consistory gave its nod Sunday to host the Shenango Valley Faith Academy, said the Rev. Carl A. Nicklas, administrator and teacher of the newly forming school.

"Now we can enroll students and do everything we need to do to get ready for the start of the school year," Rev. Nicklas said. "There's nothing holding us back now."

School starts Sept. 8.

The church allowed the school to use two classrooms and an office in the church's educational wing, and the fellowship hall for gym and lunch and other rooms as needed, provided another event is not already planned. Rev. Nicklas said.
