State revokes man's teaching certificate

A retired Sharon teacher and former Hermitage School Board member will not be allowed to teach again in Pennsylvania.

The state Department of Education revoked Bernard J. Krispinsky's teaching certificate in March, a spokesperson for the Department of Education said Thursday. The certificate was revoked because of mail fraud, the spokesperson said.

Krispinsky, 56, of 5069 Lamor Road, Hermitage, pleaded guilty in February 2001 to one count of mail fraud as a result of lying to members of his investment clubs about his investment performance.

He was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh in March 2001 to spend four months in a Youngstown halfway house and one to three years on probation, with the first three months to be served under house arrest.
