at golf course clubhouse For a case of beer and some beef jerky, an Atlantic man faces a host of charges in connection with recent break-ins of the clubhouse at Pleasant Acres Golf Course on Tower Road in Greene Township. Police said the golf course has been burglarized four times in the last three weeks. In response, two policemen from the state police crime unit in Mercer set up surveillance, watching from an unmarked car. At 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police saw a white car drive by the golf course three times in about 20 minutes. Soon after, according to a police affidavit filed at District Justice William L. Fagley's office, police saw a light near the rear entrance to the clubhouse. Two men wearing white masks were seen at the back of the building. Police called for the men to "freeze," but both tried to run away. |
