City acts to advance
LindenPointe marketing

By Joe Pinchot

Hermitage commissioners advanced two ordinances Wednesday that will impact the marketing of LindenPointe technical business park off South Hermitage Road.

Commissioners introduced an ordinance that would put about 71 of the 115 acres in a tax abatement zone, and rezone that section to a newly created zoning classification, planned technical park-2.

The creation of PTP-2 as a zoning classification is moving on at the same pace. Both measures were referred to the planning commission.

The park currently is zoned planned technical park.

A public hearing on the tax abatement issue was set for Sept. 24.

The city offers tax abatements of 100 percent for three years, 75 percent for the fourth year, 50 percent for the fifth year and 25 percent for the sixth year on improvements to properties in designated zones.
