MERCER -- Mercer County senior citizens can get up to $20 in farmers market checks, while married couples can receive $40. Checks can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local participating farmers markets. Applicants must be 60 or older, live in Mercer County and not be a resident of a personal care facility or nursing home. Annual gross income must not exceed $16,613 for a single person or $22,422 for a couple. Proof of age and residency is required. Income is self-determined and checks can be received only once yearly.
