live-in boyfriend Herald Staff Writer
A Sandy Creek Township woman will spend at least 15 years in state prison after admitting Wednesday she killed 42-year-old Robert A. Erickson Jr., the father of her two children. Kathleen Ann Robinson, 33, formerly of 322 Pearson Road, pleaded guilty to shooting and killing her on-again, off-again, live-in boyfriend of 11 years on March 10, 2002, after the couple argued in a Crawford County bar. Mercer County Common Pleas Judge Thomas R. Dobson sentenced Ms. Robinson to 15 to 40 years in prison on the third-degree murder charge. In court Wednesday, tears streamed down Ms. Robinson's face as she apologized to Erickson's family and her own. "I just want to say how sorry I am that any of this happened," Ms. Robinson said. As part of her guilty plea, Ms. Robinson answered questions about her actions the night Erickson died. Ms. Robinson said: She and Erickson went drinking at the Double Barrel Bar on the night of March 9. Their children were staying with their grandparents. |
