fighting return to Fla. accused in slaying Herald Staff Writer
A former Wheatland man wanted by Florida authorities in their investigation of a fatal shooting is still in Mercer County Jail as Florida officials prepare the paperwork for extradition proceedings. Charles R. Sarchet, 48, of Brooksville, Fla., has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Stuart Arlhuna, 51, in Hernando County, on the western coast of Florida north of Tampa. Sarchet was arrested July 31 at the Starlite Inn in Hermitage, police said. He refused to waive extradition to Florida, setting in motion a lengthy process to have him taken there against his will. |
