Lose something?
Better claim it soon

If you have recently lost a Rockford Fosgate car stereo amplifier, some knickknacks or hand tools, Brookfield police may have just what you've been looking for.

Many items that police have collected over the last few years have yet to be claimed, said Police Chief Dan Faustino.

While some of the recovered property was stolen from homes and cars, most were found in different places around the township, including people's yards, Faustino said.

Some of the goods at the department include a Sony digital camera, a chainsaw, several bicycles, microwaves and a boom box.

But don't expect to just walk in and claim an item without some verification. Faustino said people have to supply proof that the items belong to them.

"People have to come in and provide a detailed description of their missing item or be able to prove it's theirs, either with a receipt or serial number," he said.
